Hello, so glad you visit me. Lots of thanks!
I am feeling Christmas is aproaching as internet is showing lots of gorgeous art works.
In Spain you don´t feel the Christmas spirit till late December, very different to other westerns countries where Christmas is a more important and longer commertial time.
Christmas is a very special holiday for me since I was mother. I love that time. In Spain children are out of school from 21st December to 8 th January, which it is too long.
Children receive their gifts given by the Three Kings on 6th January, but nowadays lots of parents prefer Santa Clauss visit their houses too.
I am not
fond of designing Christmas patterns, I don´t know why it is not a theme which it
is inspiring to me. Nevertheless, I love seing these festives designs created
by lots of artists using reindeers, Christmas trees, baubles or candles motives. I will force myself and I will create these patterns as they are can be commertial.
My Floral winter pattern.
Last week one of the brands I license my work to, asked designers to send them Christmas designs, and I was surprised to realise that I only have one pattern which could be related to this theme. This design is my “floral winter” which was expresely designed for a spoonflower contest.
It is a
detailed design with snow flakes but on a blue background, which it is a winter
theme. Then, I thought I should make a colorway adding some of the typical
colours related to Christmas, red, white
and green. I like the result and I have added it to my Society6 portfolio and I
have also created some iphone cases with it.
I love your Christmas designs, Julia, and hope you'll do some more!
